 Pillings/The Osiers - Barrow Upon Soar

Non navigable natural river starting at Pillings weir and proceeding downstream for approximately 700yds.

Access is via Flesh Hovel Lane, Barrow Upon Soar. From Loughborough, take the A6 or Epinal Way ring road south toward Leicester. After leaving Loughborough and joining the A6 Dual Carriageway, take the Barrow Upon Soar exit. At the small roundabout take the 1st exit towards Quorn and then turn immediately right into Flesh Hovel Lane. Approximately 400yds along the lane there is a gateway on the right hand side, proceed through this gate and follow the track across two field to park next to the pylon.  Please be sure to close the gate after you as the field contains livestock. Walk through the pedestrian gate and turn left along the towpath, go over the footbridge crossing the canal, follow the canal for 50yds and the entrance to the fishery is on your right. The end of the stretch is at the fence below the wide pool known as The Bomb Hole.

Holloway's Meadows/Toon's Island

Proceeding downstream from The Osiers past The Bomb Hole the first field is private fishing belonging to The Pike Anglers Club, you then arrive at Toon's island and Holloway's meadow.

Old weir field and Bonsers

Approximately 1000yds of non navigable river.

Access is from the A60 Nottingham Rd out of Loughborough towards Cotes. Park at the side of the road next to the Abbey Meadow and walk back towards Loughborough approximately 50yds, walk diagonally left across the field to the footbridge. Please park your vehicle well onto the verge as in the past parking tickets have been issued for footpath obstruction.

Abbey Meadow/20 Acre/Prayer Meadow

Around 1500yds of non navigable river

Parking is as above next to the A60 Nottingham Rd. Abbey Meadow is the field immediately on your left, downstream of Cotes Mill, 20 Acre and Prayer Meadow follow consecutively downstream.

BRICKWOODS

Upstream of Cotes road bridge on the bank nearest to Barrow, opposite Bonsers, parking is limited to verge side only

Gorse Meadow and Navies cutting

Approximately 600yds of  river and side cutting.

Parking is roadside on Stanford lane between Cotes and Stanford on Soar. Navies cutting is accessed via the footbridge crossing the main river, the Gorse meadow starts at the fence upstream of the footbridge.

Eleven Arches and Little Meadow

Situated on Meadow Lane between Loughborough and Stanford on Soar

Parking is beneath the viaduct on either side of the road, please note that space is limited to two vehicles in each layby if parked carefully and we ask that try to park as considerately as possible as to allow others to use this facility.

The fishery extends upstream of the road bridge for a short distance on both banks, downstream of the bridge on the Loughborough bank for approximately 250yds to the fence and downstream on the embankment side for approximately 500yds.

Grand Union canal - Loughborough


From Loughborough lock, situated near to Belton Rd west, and proceeding north to it's junction with the River Soar.

Parking is available off Swingbridge Rd, postcode LE11 5JB

Zouch

Zouch canal from its junction with the river near to Zouch weirs and proceeding along the towpath bank only to Zouch lock.

Sutton Bonnington

Navigable river extending from Devil's Elbow at the upstream limit proceeding for approximately 1.5 miles to Kegworth canal.

Access is via Pasture Lane LE12 5PQ, Sutton Bonnington playing fields off Main St or via Soar Lane LE12 5PH

Kegworth Canal

From its junction with the river downstream of Sutton Bonnington to Kegworth deep lock.

Access is via Soar Lane as above.

Dishley Pool

This lake is situated next to Derby Road Playing Fields off Cotton Way, Loughborough, LE11 5FJ 
There is a small car park at Derby Road Playing Fields that is locked at dusk. Fishing is prohibited in the wildlife area to the eastern bank. All areas are clearly signed
The lake contains a very respectable head of tench to 7lb's, a few carp, specimen bream, rudd and pike.
Night fishing is permitted, a close season fron March the 14th till June the 16th applies

Stonebow Pond


Stonebow Washlands is in Thorpe Acre and is accessible from Mount Grace Road, off Maxwell Drive. The pond is full of small silvers and is a great place for kids, also tendh to 5lb's and a few pike. Please park responsibly and think of local residents.
Strictly no night fishing, fishing from 7am till dusk, a close season fron March the 14th till June the 16th applies
